Heart Garden

Words & Music by Barry Booth
I want to make my heart a garden
Where my thoughts can take root and bloom
I want to open my eyes
And realise
That a dream often dies
With an Autumn afternoon

Help me to make my heart a garden
Where my thoughts can take root and bloom
Help me to open my eyes
And realise
That a dream often dies
With an Autumn afternoon

And though the snow falls heavy and white
In the cold of a bitter Winter night
I know some sweet Spring day
Will melt it all away
As the morning fills with light

Love may not always be like Summer
Mother Nature will give and bend
I know that sometimes my heart
May burst apart
With a song I can start
But then don’t know how to end

I understand all flesh is as grass
Though we see only darkly through a glass
I know that times will change
How true it is and strange
In the end all things must pass

I'll not neglect my secret garden
It will always be free of weeds
Help me make certain each day
In work and play
There is always a way
That my love can plant a seed

And though the snow falls heavy and white
In the cold of a bitter Winter night
I know some sweet Spring day
Will melt it all away
As the morning fills with light

Love may not always be like Summer
Mother Nature will give and bend
I know that sometimes my heart
May burst apart
With a song I can start
But then don’t know how to end

I understand all flesh is as grass
Though we see only darkly through a glass
I know that times will change
How true it is and strange
In the end all things must pass

I'll not neglect my secret garden
It will always be free of weeds
Help me make certain each day
In work and play
There is always a way
That my love can plant a seed

Help me to make my heart a garden
Help me to make my heart a garden
Help me to make my heart a garden
